MOTO CULTURE WATCHES - New in!

Moto Culture – Watches of Distinction for Motorcycle Enthusiasts – Niall MacKenzie announced as Brand Ambassador and 3 New Watches launched

Any Two wheeled racing fan knows that the 1980s were a high point of factory involvement in Grand Prix motorcycle racing. Suzuki, Honda and Yamaha battled for technological dominance in the high-powered world of 500cc two-stroke racers - and to ride these beasts they employed the very best riders in the world. The likes of Doohan, Haslam, Lawson, Mackenzie, Mamola, Rainey, Roberts, Schwantz, Sheene and Spencer struggled to tame the raw power and brutal handling of bikes built without constraints. Moto Culture Watches celebrate this racing heritage.

Following the incredible reaction to the ‘Heritage Racer’ range by Motorcyclists the world over, Moto Culture are pleased to announce the arrival of three more exciting editions to the range. But not wanting to stop there, Moto Culture are thrilled to announce former 500cc two-stroke rider and British Motorcycle racing legend Niall Mackenzie as its first Brand Ambassador.

Former 500cc factory backed World Championship rider, Niall Mackenzie is known to millions of Motorbike fans from all over the world. Mackenzie won the British Superbike Championship three times from 1996 to 1998 and the British 250cc and 350cc titles twice earlier in his career. He had a long career in the Grand Prix motorcycle racing circuit, debuting in 1984 in the 250cc class. He moved up to the 500cc class in 1986 on a Suzuki before spells on Honda and Yamaha. He was 4th in the championship in 1990, and finished in the top 10 in the championship on five other occasions. A podium finisher on 7 occasions in the Premier class, Niall raced and beat some of the greatest legends of the sport. A team mate to Kevin Schwantz, Freddie Spencer, Luca Cadalora and a host of others, Niall knew what it was like to tame the 500cc two-stroke bikes of the era and is now thrilled to be Moto Culture’s first Brand Ambassador.

Moto Culture are pleased to announce the addition of three new designs into its ‘Heritage Racer’ range.

Heritage Racer #4 – The famous Yellow and Black which adorned the YZR500 is one of the most recognizable colour schemes that ever graced the Race Track. Synonymous with the YZR500 the race block became as recognizable as the Tuning Fork logo on the Yamaha and featured on numerous classic bikes across the 70’s and 80’s winning multiple races and seeing Riders on podiums. The Heritage Racer #4 celebrates that iconic look.

Heritage Racer #5 – The famous Black, Red and Yellow was usually on the front of the grid and one of the coolest designs out there. This design in particular made the transition from bike-to-leathers with perfect synchronisation. Synonymous with Suzuki and adorning many young boys bedroom walls the Black with Yellow and Red striping, our version of this combination plays on those colours.

Heritage Racer #6 – 33 Pole Positions, 39 Podium Finishes, 27 Gran Prix Victories, 3 World Championships, 500cc and 250cc World Champion in the same Year – an historic achievement over three decades ago which has never been repeated! The simple, clean but distinctive colours of Fast Freddie Spencer are a winning combination which only graced the race track for a short period of time.

Niall Mackenzie, Brand Ambassador for Moto Culture commented ‘“When the team at Moto Culture approached me about joining them I was thrilled. To me the two-stroke era was a special time where racing was hard where friendships and rivalries were forged, they were great times. I love what Moto Culture have done with their designs and the quality is excellent, I couldn’t be more pleased with my Heritage Racer #2”

Greg Willis, founding Partner and Chief Designer at Moto Culture commented “To me the 70’s and 80’s were the classic years of Motorcycle Racing and the designs I’ve created celebrate that Golden Era. Having Niall as an ambassador of the brand, someone who raced those bikes, against those legends of the sport is a real coup and we’re thrilled to have him work with us”

The Heritage Racer #1 – Celebrating one of the most successful iconic racing paint schemes from the glory days of 2-stroke 500cc Grand Prix racing. The NSR500 was piloted by multiple World Champions and thrilled viewers with its iconic look. Instantly recognizable by its Blue, Red and White paint scheme.

Heritage Racer #2 – The famous Red and White look of the YZR500 was on every back page of the Motorcycle press during the 80’s, usually crossing the finishing line in first place. A partnership that represented the most successful combination winning 6 World Championship and the Heritage Racer #3 celebrates that success. The Watch also features a Yellow Date Number reminiscent of the Number plate on the bikes.

Heritage Racer #3 – Adorning two of the most popular bikes of the 500cc, our Heritage Racer #3 pays homage to the YZR500 and RGV500. Both bikes enjoyed the highs of racing, winning world titles and thrilling viewers with arguably the coolest look. Instantly recognizable by its Red, White and Black paint scheme.
